Website Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Better Sight Overnight collects through this website, why, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers the website only. Clinical records created when you become a patient are handled separately under health privacy law, and that distinction matters, so it is stated explicitly below rather than buried.

Who This Policy Covers

Better Sight Overnight is the specialty orthokeratology brand of Arizona's Vision Eye Care Center, operating at 15215 S 48th St Ste 180, Phoenix, AZ 85044. This policy applies to bettersightovernight.com and to the information collected through it. It does not govern any other website, including sites we link to, and it does not govern your patient record once you become a patient of the practice.

What We Collect Through This Website

We collect two categories of information: what you deliberately give us, and what is measured automatically as you browse.

  • Consultation request form. Five fields only: your name, your email address, your phone number, the city you are travelling from, and your preferred appointment time. The form does not ask for, and should not be used to send, any information about your health.
  • Email and phone contact. If you email hello@bettersightovernight.com or call (480) 706-3937, we hold what you tell us in order to respond and to schedule you.
  • Automatically collected technical data. Standard web request information such as approximate location derived from an IP address, device and browser type, referring page, pages viewed, and time on page. This is aggregate measurement, not identification.
  • Consent preference. If you make a choice about analytics, that choice is stored on your device so we can honor it on subsequent visits.

We do not collect payment details through this website. Payment is handled in the office at the time of service.

This Website Is Not a Channel for Health Information

The distinction is worth understanding. Information you submit through a marketing website before you are a patient is ordinary business contact information. Once you become a patient, the clinical record created by the practice is protected health information governed by HIPAA and by Arizona law, held in the practice's clinical systems, and subject to the practice's Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided to patients directly. Those are two separate systems with two separate sets of rules, and this policy governs only the first.

Keeping clinical detail out of the website is not a formality. It is the simplest way to make sure your health information lives only where it is properly protected.

How We Use What We Collect

  • To respond to you. A consultation request exists so that we can contact you and offer appointment times.
  • To schedule and confirm appointments, including sending you the address, suite number, and what to bring.
  • To understand how the website is used, so that we can fix pages people struggle with and write the content people actually look for.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including record-keeping requirements that apply to a healthcare practice.

We do not use website form submissions to build advertising profiles, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you requested a consultation.

Cookies and Analytics

This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary for the site to function and to remember your privacy choice. Others are analytics cookies used to measure how pages perform.

We use Google Analytics implemented with Google Consent Mode. In practice that means measurement tags read your consent choice before they run. If you decline analytics consent, the tags operate in a restricted state that does not write analytics cookies or collect identifiers, and we receive only coarse, aggregated modeling rather than individual measurement. If you grant consent, standard analytics measurement applies.

  • Strictly necessary. Site functionality and storing your consent preference. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
  • Analytics. Page views, navigation paths, approximate location at city level, device category, and performance timings. Used in aggregate.
  • No advertising cookies. We do not run behavioral advertising pixels on this site.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers allow you to block or delete them entirely. Doing so may affect how parts of the site behave. Google provides its own opt-out tooling for Analytics independent of this website.

Who We Share Information With

We share information only where it is necessary to run the website and the practice.

  • Service providers. Website hosting, form delivery and email transmission, and analytics. These providers process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
  • Professional advisors and regulators, where we are legally required to disclose information.
  • Nobody else. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Better Sight Overnight operates as the specialty Ortho-K brand of Arizona's Vision Eye Care Center. Information may be handled by staff of the parent practice in the ordinary course of scheduling and providing care. See Notices and Disclosures for how that relationship is described elsewhere on this site.

Your Rights

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. We extend the substance of these rights to everyone who contacts us, regardless of where you live, because operating two standards is worse than operating one.

  • Right to know. You can ask what categories of personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we shared it with.
  • Right to access. You can request a copy of the specific personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to delete. You can ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions where we are legally required to retain records.
  • Right to correct. You can ask us to fix personal information that is inaccurate.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right stands.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive information. We do not collect sensitive personal information through this website.
  • Right to non-discrimination. Exercising any of these rights will never affect the care you receive or the price you are quoted.

Note that a request to delete website data does not delete a clinical record. Patient records are subject to retention requirements under health law and are handled through the practice's clinical records process, not through this policy.

How to Make a Request

  • Email hello@bettersightovernight.com with the subject line Privacy Request, telling us what you want and which email address or phone number you used when you contacted us.
  • Or call (480) 706-3937 during office hours, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • We will verify your identity before acting on an access or deletion request, usually by confirming details that match what we already hold.
  • We aim to respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need the extension the law allows.
  • An authorized agent may act for you with written permission that we can verify.

Retention, Security, and Children

  • Retention. Consultation requests that do not become appointments are kept only as long as needed to follow up, then removed. Business records are kept as long as required by law.
  • Security. The site is served over encrypted connections and access to submissions is limited to staff who need it. No transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, which is precisely why clinical information should not be sent this way.
  • Children. This website is written for adults, including parents acting for a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child through this site. A parent or guardian should submit any consultation request on a child's behalf.
  • Third-party links. Pages we link to are governed by their own policies, not this one.

Changes and Contact

We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be described on the page rather than made silently.

Questions about this policy, or about anything on this site, can go to hello@bettersightovernight.com, to (480) 706-3937, or by post to Better Sight Overnight, 15215 S 48th St Ste 180, Phoenix, AZ 85044. See also our Terms of Service, Accessibility Statement, and the site map.
