Whether It Is Worth It For Your Family
This is a legitimate question and it has an honest answer that is not always yes.
- If your child has a stable prescription that has not moved in two years, and glasses are working, a local optometrist is the right choice and this is not.
- If the prescription has increased three years running, you are looking at progression, and slowing it is a separate goal from correcting it.
- If glasses are being left in a backpack all day, your child is uncorrected for most of their waking hours and something has to change.
- If sport is the reason glasses keep breaking, compare the running cost of replacements and sports eyewear against a program figure.
- If you are an adult who simply dislikes glasses, the case is about quality of life, and only you can weigh that.

Avondale Elementary District covers the K through 8 population and feeds into Tolleson Union high schools including Westview and La Joya. During the first week or two, keep the old glasses in the bag as a backup while the correction stabilizes.
